Woodworking is an excellent activity for childhood development as it promotes fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and spatial awareness. It encourages patience, problem-solving, and creative thinking through hands-on learning. Working with tools and materials also builds confidence and a sense of accomplishment, while fostering focus and discipline. Additionally, woodworking nurtures practical skills and an appreciation for craftsmanship, helping children develop both cognitive and emotional growth in a meaningful, engaging way.
This practical workshop offers an introduction to fine woodworking, where participants design and build a small wooden project from start to finish: a Japanese-style toolbox - simple, elegant, and achievable using hand tools.
Throughout the workshop, participants will develop essential skills and confidence by working step-by-step through thewoodworkingprocess.
